Experts state that eating healthy whilst pregnant and during the first 3 years of a child's life make a big impact on how healthy they will become as an adult. One expert stated the body stes up for life during this period and a bad diet can cause irreversable effects on the body, like fat storage.

You have probably heard the old maxim that when you are pregnant you are "eating for two." While this is technically true, the second person is very tiny and its calorie needs are much lower than any person who is outside the womb.Having said that, you do need to increase your calorie intake during the second and third trimester of pregnancy, by 300-500 calories, more if you are underweight and fewer if you are overweight. It is important that these calories are from nutritious foods that, in addition to providing energy, also provide protein, good carbs, vitamins, minerals, fiber and healthy fats and are not merely "empty calories."

All salad dressings that you buy in supermarkets, such as mayonnaise, will have been made using pasteurised egg and are therefore quite safe.
