In recent weeks we've seen a rise in this question. Its not because of our servers, but in most cases Norton's anti virus or Panda anti-virus that is causing this issue.

Before you go any further, print this screen an then reboot your computer. That in and of itself may fix your issue. If not, we've outlined a few reasons below starting with help for Norton's users:

NORTON ANTI VIRUS USERS

We are finding that some versions of Norton's and Windows are not working well togather. What we have found is that if you disable the auto protect on Nortons (right click on the icon next to your clock on bottem right of your screen).

Next, if you will then right click and pick options and go to Email options and turn off incoming Email scanning. After doing this, your mail should work. We recommend to customers that are having these issues that you should consider McAfee's Anti virus where as it doesn't have these type problems. Although our server are scanning for virus' we do estimate that they are 95% accurate and recommend that you do have virus software installed on your computer.

Cause #2 is a malformed header Email. We do have the patch posted on our helpdesk. But we have also added a utility that will seach the mailserver for these type message and it runs @ the top of each hour, so if this is the cause it will clear on its own. If you don't want to wait you can access your webmail interface and delete the message from there.

Common 550 error mailbox does not exist,...check to make sure your mailbox is setup in your control panel.

Cause #3. Outlook/Outlook Express corrupt. We find that on some PC's if you can't recieve Email that if you first reboot the computer it will correct it or if that does not you can try removing the mailbox and reinstalling it and sometimes that will fix it. However, usually that only needs to be done if the all the above topics have failed.

More obvious causes:
You aren't connected to the internet. You don't have the right username and password, your domain may be expired.

And of course if none of these solutions help you if you send your domain AND the error to techsupport@actwd.com we will see if there are further reasons for the issue.
