This is an interesting question because there are many schools of thought on this however if you do it correctly and make sure your website has links in from other site, google should find you fairly quickly. If you don't have inbound links and don't employ tactics such as blogger.com, using the advanced method, it could take months and then they wont' be back for month.

From there, it will be up to you at what rate you are reindexed meaning how well you train them that their is new content on your site. We recommend adding content daily and using blogger.com and that will help them to come more often to your site. Content is the core to any websites success.

Google maintains a nice set of free tools for helping a webmaster get a page found in searches. Including help with meta tags, robots.txt files, content and keywords, analyzer tools, etc. I found it the easiest way to stay on top in the higher accessed search engines.

Visit the follow to have a look...

I've been using the tools for years, though there are more tools available now. You will have to sign up, but it is worth it. Smile

hope it helps ~ JP

you're using article directories to push out huge amounts of content, then you may be in jeopordy of being penalized. Bottom line is anything you do to try and game search results will eventually be penalized.
