| I see that an older version of Galley is available for installation from the Application Vault in the Control Panel. I have found a newer version is available. Can I install the newer version or better yet, can WHFI install it so it is available from the Application Vault? Also, can this application work when using Front Page 2003? |

Hi,
You sure can do the updated version if you want. On our side the gallery and other app vault applications will be updated end of the year.
Regarding frontpage. you have to be extremely careful with frontpage in a situation like this. You sure can use frontpage and all. But one thing is if you use bots or includes that generate from frontpage itself, you must never touch the gallery folder with frontpage.
The reason why is this. Frontpage accounts for all the the files on a website. When you add a directory or manage a directory outside the program and then it finds it, it corupts the extensions because it needs to be recalculated.
If you don't use the bots you won't lost them if have to reset the extensions. If you do use them you will lose what is called the meta information in a reset.
Lastly. the easiest thing to say is to not touch the directory because as long as FP doesn't know about the directory, it won't see the directory and end result it doesnt' mess up the extensions.
I hope this answers the question.
Thanks. |
