We've had a few call on this and found out something that might be helpful to some

The norton anti-virus scanner will slow down your
out bound Email even if you have turned off STMP scanning. Now to me its always better to have the scanning because you sure dont want some virus broadcasting your personal Email, so you may need to put upwith the slowness. But over all if its annoying, that is the simple cure to the problem.
