587 one of the other customers typo'd it.

And the ISP is who causes issues like this. They have control over your connection and its ability to send Email.

try 587 and lets see what happens although i'm leaning towards the anti virus software changing settings in your mail program.

Also did you try any of your other domains?

I am not receiving any error message anywhere. When I close Outlook, it tells me that I have unsent messages in the Outbox, but otherwise there is no indication of any problem.

I turned off Norton antivirus and Email scanning, both in and out, and tried sending from Outlook. The only change was that the progress window showed a completed progress bar at the top, but none of the messages went out and the field in the progress window where the actions are shown did not reflect any change or progress.

I changed the setting to 587 and tried again (with Norton still shut off) with no different result.

and you did reboot right? And on nortons you have to turn off teh Email scanning on the outbound.

I tested the server and its all going out fine.

Also please tell me what your mailservers read and who is the ISP?

I have not rebooted, but I did turn off the outbound Email scanning.

Outgoing mail servers for two accounts:
mail.computer-productivity.com
smtp.earthlink.net

How do I find out the ISP for earthlink? It is ACTWD for the first account.

Okay, I am making some progress!
I re-read your initial post and noticed that you said to set the SSL flag "On".
I did that and tried sending the messages again. This time, they did go out. There is a long delay (as I think someone else had mentioned), but they went out. This is with the Norton protection turned on, so it seems that I am back in operation again.
I did get a message on the first attempt having to override the security certificate for my main domain. I assume that will not happen every time I try to send something out?

the pause is caused becuase of using SSL and the Nortons having to scan it. Its earthlink dictating the port. But not using port 25 is becoming more and more obsolete.
